Alexandre Lecherbonnier

Alexandre Lecherbonnier is an important political character in the history of Issoudun in the XIXth century. He took many times the role of mayor of the town, with his successive mandates that witness his engagement for the community and habitants.
A political man to Issoudun services
His first mayor mandate goes back to 1876-1877, following two other gestions periods of municipality in 1877-1879 and 1880-1888. Through those working years, Alexandre Lecherbonnier has marked the political local life by his implication and the need to modernize the town.
A sustanable legacy
His name is still in the memories of Issoudun, because one of the streets takes after him : la rue Alexandre Lecherbonnier. Located in the center of the town this street is also known to shelters the Ensemble Scolaire Saint-Cyr, a school building welll known in Issoudun.
A Man anchored in the local history
The contribution of Alexandre Lecherbonnier to Issoudun's developpement and its engagement towards the community makes him a local figure. His memory is preserved thanks to the streets that has his name, calling back the habitants of his role.
